2009 PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIP

This year's Championship was held on January 10th at the Innisfail Curling Club. Host Chairmen, Wally Purcell did an excellent job. Many thanks to Sue and Wally for preparing a wonderful feast for everyone back at the Purcell ranch. Billiards and Texas Hold'em were played after supper and the competition was just as fierce as at the Curling rink.

The APCA would like to thank the Innisfail Curling Club for providing their wonderful facility for our championship.

The Provincial Final was a best of three affair between the Mike Pierson and Wally Purcell teams. Game one went to the Mike Pierson squad on last rock. The second game and the Provincial Championship was won by the Mike Pierson team in another hard fought battle.

Congratulations to the Mike Pierson rink. They will be Team Alberta at the Canadian Police Curling Championship in St. John's, Newfoundland between March 21st and 28th. Hopefully they will have better luck with taxi cabs on the Rock.
