• Harvey began police work in 1954 with the Hamilton Police Department as a police cadet and in 1957 was sworn in as a Constable
• Harvey worked in uniform, identification, detective and special services retiring in 1992 as a Staff/Sgt.
• Harvey was a director of the Ontario and Canadian Police Golf Associations, The Hamilton Police Association, co-ordinate and established the Hamilton Police Association Club, The Glendale Golf & Country Club.
• In 2004 host co-chaired the Canadian Police Curling Championships held at the Glendale Golf and Curling Club in Hamilton, Ontario.
• Harvey has been a Golf Rules official with the Ontario Golf Association for 25 years.
• Married to Ann, has 2 Sons and 5 Grandchildren.
• Still active in both Golf and Curling.
