Richard Seamone Award
The Richard (Dick) Seamone – Sportsmanship Award is presented yearly during the
N.S Police Curling Association Championship.
This award is in honor of Richard Seamone a retired RCMP officer and a
member of the Nova Scotia Police Association for many years.
Dick loved police curling events and was a strong advocate of fair play
and sportsmanship.
The award is presented to the police curler
or curlers
who demonstrates and exhibits an outstanding personality and sportsmanship
towards fellow curlers.
The yearly recipient is voted on by all other curlers during the event
and this is a prestigious award to win.
The curler is honored during the Championship banquet and
presented with the plaque.

Its never to early to get your 2018 team put together. The
competitive side has traditionally been open to only "Police Officers".
However a motion was passed April, 2012 at the National AGM opens the
competitive side to all "Peace Officers". The criteria for eligibility
under the "Peace Officer" designation is as follows:
-
“That
any full time Peace Officer be permitted to participate in any
CPCA sanctioned event, specifically Provincial and Canadian
curling championships and be allowed to enter and compete using
a team consisting solely of full time Peace Officers.
This may include but is not restricted to full time
Canadian Border Services, Customs Officers, Correctional
Officers, Conservation Officers and Fisheries Officers on a two
year trial basis.”
- Are members in good standing within the Provincial or
Territorial Association in which they reside.
- Retired Peace Officers with a minimum of 15 years service
in the employ of their agency.
The
Nova Scotia Police Curling Association is a proud supporter of the
tourette Canada, the only federally registered, non-profit organization
of volunteers assisting those with or affected by tourette syndrome and
its associated disorders. Nova Scotia Police curlers throughout the
year work with tourette Canada and especially youth effected
by tourettes. We continue to fundraise throughout the year with
different events hosted by Nova Scotia Police Curlers to assist with
tourette Canada and their tremendous group of volunteers. Your
generosity would be a very meaningful contribution in support of this
foundation
